Metal work, stainless at Jack Evans Boat Harbour, Tweed Heads.
Southern Stainless tendered this project and was successfully contracted by Multiplex to undertake the Landscape Metal Work Package.
Metal work consisted of stainless steel balustrade posts with horizontal stainless steel wire and custom fit timber top rail.
Stainless stanchion posts that formed part of the balustrade were fabricated from 12mm 316 marine grade stainless steel flat bar with 16mm thick base plates.
The stainless for each post was manually polished to 400Grit satin then individually electropolished after welding to gain maximum corrosion resistance at the seaside installation location. Posts were installed and levelled using chemical set fixings, posts were levelled then grouted, wire installed followed finally by the timber top rail.
