New Farm Ferry Terminal Stainless Steel Balustrades & Fabrication
A comprehensive ferry terminal upgrade featuring high quality stainless steel, aluminium, and steel fabrication, designed for durability, safety, and long-term performance in a busy riverside environment.
Project Overview
Category: Balustrades, Commercial, Ferry Terminals
Location: New Farm, Brisbane
Project Description: Southern Stainless was engaged to manufacture and install a range of stainless steel, aluminium, and steel components as part of the New Farm Ferry Terminal upgrade.
The project required a premium finish across all elements to ensure long-term durability in a high-traffic, riverside environment. All stainless steel components were fabricated from 316 marine grade material, mechanically polished to a 1000 grit finish, and fully electropolished after fabrication. This process achieved a surface smoothness of <0.2mm Ra, significantly improving corrosion resistance and minimising tea staining.
Combining new fabrication with refurbishment works, the project delivered a cohesive and high-performance outcome while maintaining existing features where possible.
