Southern Stainless completed the electropolishing of a stunning collection of stainless steel sculptures created by Stainless Chain Reaction — a unique series of handcrafted artworks by local Gold Coast artist and stainless steel specialist Mike Van Dam.
Formed entirely from stainless steel chain links, these striking sculptures feature marine-inspired designs including whales, dolphins, and abstract chain formations, showcasing the versatility and artistic potential of stainless steel fabrication.
Premium Electropolishing for Stainless Steel Artworks
Each sculpture underwent our in-house electropolishing process at our Ormeau facility on the Gold Coast, Queensland. Electropolishing is an advanced electrochemical finishing process that removes a microscopic layer from the stainless steel surface, eliminating impurities and smoothing the metal at a microscopic level.
The result is a bright, ultra-clean finish with exceptional depth, clarity, and reflectivity — ideal for decorative, marine, architectural, and artistic stainless steel applications.
