Jack Evans Boat Harbour Stainless Steel Wire Balustrades – Tweed Heads
A large-scale landscape metalwork project featuring marine-grade stainless steel wire balustrades with custom timber top rails for the Jack Evans Boat Harbour waterfront precinct.
Project Overview
Category: Balustrades, Marine & Boating
Location: Tweed Heads, NSW
Project Description: Southern Stainless successfully tendered and was contracted by Multiplex to undertake the Landscape Metal Work Package for Jack Evans Boat Harbour in Tweed Heads.
The project included the fabrication and installation of stainless steel balustrade systems incorporating horizontal stainless steel wire and custom timber top rails. Designed specifically for a harsh seaside environment, the balustrade posts were manufactured from 12mm 316 marine grade stainless steel flat bar with 16mm thick base plates to ensure long-term durability and structural integrity.
Each stainless steel post was manually polished to a 400 grit satin finish before being individually electropolished after welding to maximise corrosion resistance. The installation process included chemically set fixings, precision levelling, grouting, wire installation, and final timber rail integration.
